Wednesday 5th October 2016.
This lecture was really a follow on from the one this morning but concentrated on the cordwainers course which is all about making shoes. It is run in one of the colleges belonging to UAL.
Sue Day was the visiting lecturer and told us all about the history of Cordwainers, and it’s worldwide reputation for quality and design.
She showed lots of slides appertaining to the course, the stages of shoe production and the design process.
She had brought various skins and hides of different creature and we had to try and guess what they were. I found it extrodinary what some of the skins turned out to be, ostrich being one of them.
I found it all so fascinating and she was so interesting.
